![]() I know it's still snowing outside but spring is definitely on its way. Puxatony Phil declared that winter is coming to an end and that means and early start to the spring selling season. Many of us at this time of year, as we are trying to cram that plastic tote of wrapping paper into the already overflowing hall closet, start to think about spring cleaning. While it's true that a clean home may be a happy home, when was the last time you thought about your presence online, your virtual front door if you will. 87% of all people who bought a home in 2010 started the journey online. More and more it is not a sign in the yard or a business card or an ad in a magazine that makes phones ring but our Facebook pages and online profiles. This weekend I took some time, just me a Google, to look around and some of the information that Realtors have online and I was surprised. Tons of agents have little to no profile information on some of the most prominent websites online. Sites like Realtor.com, Trulia, Yahoo Real Estate and more have outdated, confusing or missing information. Your online profiles are your virtual front door, and without a streamlined presence hundreds, maybe even thousands of leads per year are falling though the cracks for many Realtors. So take some time this spring and check out what's out there online. Even better hire a professional to go over your virtual marketing and update your information and discuss what you can do to improve your online leads. This can be done for a nominal fee. Usually in a couple work hours. And will make a huge impact in your bottom line this year. Marketing done right doesn't have to be expensive but it does have to be effective.
